History of New Year’s Resolution..

The concept of creating New Year's resolutions is so ingrained in our culture that the some governments have even provided a list of popular resolutions and resources for achieving them. New Year’s resolutions consist of a list of good intentions, such as: drink less alcohol, eat healthy food, get a better education, get a better job, get fit, manage debt, manage stress and recycle etc.

The New Year’s resolution actually originated over 4000 years ago and rested with the Babylonians who reportedly made promises to the gods in hopes they'd earn good favour in the coming year. They often resolved to get out of debt!

A 2007 study involving 3,000 people however, showed that 88% of those who set New Year resolutions fail despite the fact that 52% of the study's participants were confident of success at the beginning. Men achieved their goal 22% more often when they engaged in goal setting, while women succeeded 10% more when they made their goals public and got support from their friends.

So as we bring in 2015 what are your resolutions? Let us know what they are and whether you think you’ll stick to them !!
